Trials and Tribulation

Every January we begin a new theme for the year. Our theme for this year is "Trials & Tribulations."  Each month we will have a new memory verse and study an aspect of testing in the Bible.

January — The Garden Test
But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it: for in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die. — Genesis 2:17

February — The Canaan Test
Now the LORD had said unto Abram, Get thee out of thy country, and from thy kindred, and from thy father's house, unto a land that I will shew thee: — Genesis 12:1

March — The Mountain Test
And he said, Take now thy son, thine only son Isaac, whom thou lovest, and get thee into the land of Moriah; and offer him there for a burnt offering upon one of the mountains which I will tell thee of. — Genesis 22:2

April — The Passover Test
And they shall take of the blood, and strike it on the two side posts and on the upper door post of the houses, wherein they shall eat it. — Exodus 12:7

May — The Heart Test
I the LORD search the heart, I try the reins, even to give every man according to his ways, and according to the fruit of his doings. — Jeremiah 17:10

June — The Spirits Test
Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world. — 1 John 4:1

July — The Benefits Test
Man that is born of a woman is of few days, and full of trouble. — Job 14:1

August — The Self Test
Examine yourselves, whether ye be in the faith; prove your own selves. Know ye not your own selves, how that Jesus Christ is in you, except ye be reprobates? — 2 Corinthians 13:5

September — The Tyranny Test
But the word of God grew and multiplied. — Acts 12:24

October — The Solution to the Tests
There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it. — 1 Corinthians 10:13

November — The Loyalty Test
Peter answered and said unto him, Though all men shall be offended because of thee, yet will I never be offended. — Matthew 26:33

December — The Garden Test
Saying, Father, if thou be willing, remove this cup from me: nevertheless not my will, but thine, be done. — Luke 22:42
